There’s a Punchinello inside most of us, isn’t there? An urge for others’ approval, a drive to be like the rest of the crowd, a need to show off all our “stuff.” The little wooden fellow we first met in YOU ARE SPECIAL learns a hard but essential lesson about “stuff” in his new adventure, YOU ARE MINE.

Boxes and balls. They were the latest thing! Fancy balls. Colorful boxes. All the Wemmicks had them. All that is, except Punchinello. Not wanting to be left out, he resolved to fit in. He would do whatever it took to have what others had. Eli, his maker, used the moment to remind Punchinello of this truth: “You are special, not because of what you have, but because you are Mine.”

The animation team for "You Are Mine" has previously worked on some of the best known animated productions in the industry. The husband and wife team of Mark & Kerri Swanson ("An American Tail," "The Land Before Time," "All Dogs Go To Heaven." "The Pagemaster") managed the project as Director and Producer respectively. Don Bluth ("An American Tail," "The Land Before Time," "All Dogs Go To Heaven," "Anastasia") teamed up with Larry Scholl ("Mulan") to provide storyboards. The overseas partner for the project, Imagineasia, included the talents of David Luvgren ("Little Mermaid II") and Todd Waterman ("Mulan").

The musical score was composed by John Painter (one half of Fleming and John) and includes the original songs, "Absotively Posilutely" (written and performed by Phil Madeira), "All Alone" (written by Painter, performed by Fleming K. McWilliams) and "I'm Special" (written by Joel Hanson, performed by Phil Keaggy.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- December 3, 2002 -- The National Parenting Center (TNPC), America's leading parent advocacy group, has awarded the new Max Lucado children's video, "You Are Mine," with its prestigious Holiday Seal of Approval.

The Parenting Center's seal identifies the finest products and services marketed to parents and their children. The testing process, which runs for two months, three times per year, collects the evaluations of educators, parents and children based on their opinions as consumers. As such, TNPC's award is viewed by parents as an indicator that a product has been met with the approval of their peers. Many retailers, such as Amazon.com and Toys R Us, specially identify these products as award-winners.

"We are thrilled that "You Are Mine" has been chosen by TNPC as worthy of their esteemed Parent Seal of Approval. We hope this recognition will give parents and other adults added confidence that Max's newest Wemmicks' tale is a must-have for their children. 'You are Mine' is a video product that entertains, educates and provides a strong positive message for children," said Gabriel Vasquez, director of marketing for Creative Trust Workshop.

"You Are Mine" was one of only three children's videos distinguished for the Parenting Center's 10th Annual Holiday Seal of Approval. "ET: The Extraterrestrial DVD" and "RAGGS Kids Club Pawsuuup!" videos join "You Are Mine" in the children's video category. Past video Seal of Approval recipients have included "Clifford the Big Red Dog - Clifford's Schoolhouse Baby," "Baby Songs Silly Songs," "Lyle the Kindly Viking," "Joseph: King of Dreams" and "Baby Mozart Video."

The TNPC said of "You Are Mine," "This Video/DVD production features some truly innovative and eye-popping animation that really impressed our testers. "You Are Mine" is a video that is steeped in morality as defined by Christian values."

"You Are Mine" is the sequel to the platinum-selling "You Are Special" video. Both videos are based on Lucado's wildly popular Wemmicks books (Crossway Publishing) by the same titles that have sold more than two million units combined. "You Are Special," the book, was recently honored by the Inspiration Networks with the 2002 Inspirational Award for Children's Book of the Year.

"You Are Mine" follows the familiar and beloved adventures of little wooden Punchinello from Wemmicksville and his woodcarving creator Eli (voiced by Sparrow recording artist Steven Curtis Chapman). "You Are Mine" brings the tale of Punchinello's struggle to be a good Wemmick to life like never before with the latest and most advanced animation art.

The VHS and DVD for "You Are Mine" released in October and has been in the top 20 of the Children's videos, according to Christian SoundScan. The Wemmicks brand will expand further in 2003 with the Spring release of a new book in the Wemmicks series, "Best of All," along with new DVD Read & Sing Along products for "You Are Special" and "You Are Mine." "If Only I Had A Green Nose," a follow-up video to "You Are Mine" is also in production. It is adapted from the Lucado book of the same title, is scheduled for release in the Fall of 2003. Additional Wemmicks books, videos and music products are planned beyond that.
